"Know Your Library" program: A new Library Initiative to approach UMPSA students: 5-8 March 2024

8 March 2024 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) received the admission of new students and are well prepared for semester II 2023/2024. To welcome the new students, the Library has taken the initiative to hold a "Know Your Library" program for students walking into the library from March 5 until March 8, 2024.

The "Know Your Library" program was held simultaneously in the UMPSA Pekan and Gambang Library Lobby and was supervised by the staff of the Education & Research Unit (UPeN). The purpose of this program is to provide a brief description of the services and facilities offered by the Library. Services such as users education classes, using the main platform for searching library materials such as the library catalog (eFind), UMPSA Institutional Repository (UMPSA-IR), UMPSA Library Electronic Collection (eColLib), e-Exam, library portal and others.

The response from the students was very encouraging, questions such as the library's operating hours, the use of space in the 24-hour Room, the use of Mendeley & Turnitin for third-year and postgraduate students and also the method of searching for materials in the database using EzProxy.

As a sign of appreciation and support, souvenirs are given to lucky students who participate in this program. They are encouraged to follow the Library's social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram and WhatsApp. Every latest information regarding library's activities and programs will be posted and notified on the Library's social media platform in addition to official channels such as email and UMPSA eCommunity.

It is hoped that the objectives of the "Know Your Library" program will be achieved and that new and existing students will benefit by sharing the information provided. The UMPSA library always welcomes the presence of all users in support of university education and research.
