Hits: 3514
On 27th May 2021, UMP Library held an online training conducted by Access Dunia via Zoom application at 10.30 a.m. The trainer was Mr. David Ong, the Senior Sales Executive.
One of the objectives of this training was to facilitate lecturers on how to get started with Turnitin as instructors. Thus, creating awareness on the importance of preventing plagiarism in the academic field.
A total of 47 people attended this session. Lecturers and staff learned how to use the software, creating accounts, how to add new classes while informing them to give out Class Id and Enrollment Key for their students to enroll in class. The software helps the lecturer in setting new assignments (set up optional settings and add rubrics), exclude sources, submit papers, and request to delete previous papers.
Importantly the participants understood the importance of referencing in writing and how to prevent plagiarizing and direct online grading. The session will definitely help the participants to utilize this software to its full extent. A Q&A session was held before the training ended at 2.30pm.
