Library has expressed its intention to share reference materials with the Institute for Product Research and Malay Islamic Civilization (INSPIRE). The library is developing a digital collection and database of information resources related to Pahang Civilization which can be accessed at https://tamadunpahang.ump.edu.my/ for free. The community can also share resources by either submitting materials physically or providing information/metadata related to Pahang Civilization materials through the platform or database.
The intention to collaborate was conveyed during the visit of the Library delegation to INSPIRE on 9 February 2022. Both sides have identified possible collaborations in terms of sharing reference sources such as Islamic and Malay manuscripts. Besides sharing of reference sources, cooperation in terms of research and organization of knowledge discourse has also been identified.
The Library delegation was led by the Chief Librarian, Encik Azman Abdul Rahim and was received by the Director of INSPIRE, Prof. Prof. Dr. Adel M. Abdulaziz Algeriani. The Director of INSPIRE brief the delegation on INSPIRE as a research institute on Malay Islamic civilization and a digital manuscript reference center. They also had the opportunity to visit the manuscript exhibition space at the Al-Watiqu Billah Library.
Hopefully the Library's visit to INSPIRE will help develop the Pahang Civilization Digital Collection faster and stronger.
