Knowing that Mendeley is one of the most important reference management tools especially for postgraduate students, the library has taken the initiative to invite a PhD student from the Faculty of Industrial Management to share experiences and best practices in using Mendeley. Mr. Haziman Bin Zakaria has been a Mendeley Advisor since 2022. He is actively.sharing the use of Mendeley in several educational institutions.

The program which took place on 6 March 2024 for 2 hours started at 10.00 am until 12.00 noon at the Computer Lab, Gambang Library and attended by a total of 30 participants consisting of postgraduate students from various faculties. The main objective of the program is to provide exposure and knowledge to participants on the advantages and benefits of Mendeley in writing journal articles and encouraging participants to use Mendeley as a tool in reference management and academic writing.

Throughout this program participants were given exposure to the use of Mendeley to store, organize and share references easily. Mr. Haziman also provides exercises that must be completed by the participants. Participants who successfully complete the task also receive an attractive souvenir.

This Mendeley sharing session is expected to benefit participants in writing journal articles and theses. In addition, this program is also expected to foster a culture of sharing knowledge among students who have experience in producing high-quality scientific writing and publications.
